Rev. Father Clifford Mainooh

My name is Fr. Clifford Mainooh.

I was born in Kumasi, Ghana. I’m the first of four brothers.

I earned a Diploma in Education, from Lagos, Nigeria, a BA in Philosophy and Social Sciences from the Spiritan University College and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, and a BA in Theology from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad.

I was ordained on July 28, 2018 in Kumasi, Ghana.

I worked at the Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Arouca after ordination, then in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.

I am currently the parish priest (pastor) of the Laventille-Morvant R.C. Pastoral Area, Trinidad.

The steelpan, the national musical instrument of Trinidad and Tobago, originated in the Laventille-Morvant communities. The communities have produced great men and women who have occupied great positions in different spheres of life and in different parts of the world.

However, like most communities, the Laventille-Morvant communities have long been hit by gang wars, drug-fueled conflicts, drive-by-shootings, poverty, illiteracy, and so on. These have caused a severe degree of damage to the communities, thereby stagnating social development, and impugning the character and reputation of the residents.

In spite of all these, I believe God has placed me there to serve His children, many of whom are desperate, depressed, and eager to see the miracle of positivity.
