Rev. Father Anthony Abraham

I was born in Arima, Trinidad. As a child growing up, God was absent from my home and my life. At the age of 19, I had a conversion experience while listening to the preaching of Trinidadian and international Charismatic Renewal evangelist, Babsie Blaisdell. This experience led me back to the Catholic Church. I then became a household member of the Word of Life Prayer Community in Arima and began a life of service to the homeless and the poor.

In my desire to give back to God the years the locust ate, I successfully completed my studies at the Regional Seminary of St. John Vianney and the Uganda Martyrs at Mount Saint Benedict, Trinidad.

I was ordained a priest on April 4, 2008 at the St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

I went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad. My greatest joy is to see a soul capitulate to the living God. At present, I serve in the Diocese of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I am the pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church on the island of St. John. I also serve as Vicar for Clergy and Diocesan Liaison for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

I am currently a Chaplain in the U.S. Army, ministering to military personnel in Puerto Rico.

I preach at Catholic conferences and parish missions throughout the Caribbean and have also conducted youth workshops.

I value Ecumenism, and have accepted invitations to preach at Moravian and Methodist
churches.

My motto for life is, “When God calls you, He enables you.
